Checking Benefits and Out-of-Pocket Pay
At Snow Family Dentistry, we strive to be an affordable care option for your family’s dental needs, and we are contracted with most major Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans. It is our goal to provide the best possible service to our patients, both in the chair and out of it. As such, we have a straight forward process of checking benefits and are pleased to offer a Snow Savings Plan for our patients who do not have insurance coverage. How We Verify Insurance Benefits
First, we have you fill out paperwork and collect your insurance information. To make your check-in process as easy as possible, all paperwork is available on our website, so you have the option of filling it out beforehand and bringing it in. From there, we simply verify that you have active coverage by calling your insurance company or checking their website. We will also check things like maximums, deductibles, coverage percentages, and orthodontics coverage to create a patient profile for you. Depending on when you become a patient, we will check the remaining benefits available for the year.
As previously mentioned, we are contracted with a large majority of PPO plans. PPO plans mean that there is a contracted amount the insurance will pay while the patient pays the difference that insurance does not cover. Next, we present a treatment plan with the Usual and Customary fee, the allowed amount, and the patient portion including your deductible. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will always answer any questions you may have about your portion due at the time of service.
Keep in mind that we are only able to give estimates, not quotes, but a pre-authorization can be done for extensive treatment plans. This will allow you to know your exact out-of-pocket costs for your treatments. Finally, we remind patients to renew their coverage when the plan is getting close to the renewal date, so they don’t lose the remaining available benefits.
No Insurance, No Problem: Snow Dental Savings Plan
We fully understand that not everyone has access to affordable insurance, but we do not believe that should disqualify anyone from receiving proper and professional dental care. With this in mind, we offer a Snow Savings Plan in our office for our patients that do not have any insurance coverage. This plan covers two cleanings, exams, x-rays, and fluoride in a twelve-month period and discounts off any additional treatments the patient may needs.
